I’ve got mail from erssiemajor@yahoo.co.uk
look in comments. So I’ve deleted all links, because I did not know that cachelinks of waybackmachine are not allowed to post here. Sorry !!!
If you have any Question about gone Patterns of Magknits feel free to contact Erssie.
Thanks for your understanding
bina
lg bina

Fühl Dich mal geknuddelt, zwar unbekannter Weise, aber macht ja nix
Sei lieb gegrüßt

Thank you so much for posting all these archive links. I had already spent several hours looking for patterns, but it is much easier with your links, and some of the pages still have the charts and pictures.
[...] And with that I will leave with a little *sigh* over the loss of a great free pattern resource, Magknits. You will be missed. In the meantime, if you are trying to track down some of the patterns before they completely disappear, try http://stricklinks.wordpress.com/2008/04/09/in-memoriam-magknits/ . [...]
Thanks for putting all this together before it went away forever. I did link to it on my blog. I do hope that is ok.
Vielen, vielen dank! I was able to get a couple of the patterns I needed yet. What a great deal of time you went to, to do this for the knitting community.
I really appreciate your interest in MagKnits patterns, I really do. Also I appreciate that you don’t want patterns to be buried and have gone to a lot of trouble to provide them to the community.
However, there are publishing rights involved with these patterns, and although the patterns were free to readers the publishers paid a fee to designers in exchange for exclusivity. These rights now go back to the designers, but who retain copyright and they have plans for re-releasing patterns which I outline below and nearly all of us respect that readers wish them to be free and so will do so at our own cost.
It is for this reason, I’m sorry to say, sharing cached archives (googled or otherwise) of these free patterns is NOT allowed I am afraid it is illegal and in breach of copyright despite you having
The archives do give pattern details, but they don’t give professional photos or charts that are needed to make the patterns clear which is why designers object mainly and they are going to a lot of trouble to give professionally presented versions of these elsewhere.
I would strongly urge anyone sharing these patterns to stop doing so, remove links from their blogs or other sources. Some of the more experienced professional designers could sue and have the legal backing to take action although I have no intention of doing so, so although I realise you did this for all the right reasons I just wanted to educate you with regards to the situation
The good news is, that the free patterns have not gone away forever and although the closing of MagKnits is a shock to everyone, there is no need to panic and you will find that the majority of the patterns will be available either here:
Yarn Forward magazine is
http://www.yarnforwardmagazine.co.uk/
in their archives by May 2008
or
Knotions magazine is
http://www.knotionsmag.com/
who have put up the first few Magknits patterns on this new mags websites
For the other patterns, contact the designers because they will have put the patterns up on their own websites and most are endeavouring for it to be free to download.
Finding the projects you like on Ravelry, will keep you updated as to where the patterns are going to be published. A knitting design never dies you know, like a phoenix it rises from the ashes.
My email is

and I am happy for knitters to contact me about free patterns
